Benji Antonio is a creatively-minded producer and musician with ten years of experience in the music industry under his belt. Being an active member of the UK music scene, he’s making name for himself in the Post-Rock genre, whilst also working with Jazz, Pop, Indie, Folk/Acoustic and Electronic music.
Specialising in recording and post-production for music and audio, Benji can offer a bespoke and friendly working relationship to a professional standard with the attention to detail that your project deserves.
After graduating with a BSc (hons) in Audio Engineering and a diploma in Music Technology, Benji has focused on producing for a host of clients. He has worked for music venues, live theatre, internet media.
Currently working as a freelance producer-engineer in both music and podcasts, Benji has had national recognition on productions including features on Tom Robinson’s BBC Radio 6 and Huw Stephens BBC Radio 1 shows.
Pre-pandemic, Benji spent time engineering at Middleton Arena in Manchester, overseeing the live sound aspects and daily running of the audio systems in the auditorium.
As a musician signed to Monomyth Records, Benji fronted the Art-Rock outfit Tranqua Lite. Whilst being a proficient performer as a vocalist-guitarist, he also shows a honed talent and flair in his bass guitar and drums performances.
Having played to audiences reaching 10,000 strong, he has had the pleasure of many notable performances and sessions. Including Leeds and Reading Festivals, BBC 6 Music, The Ethiad Stadium (Manchester City Football Club), Kendal Calling, Belladrum Festival, Live At Leeds, Hit The North, O2 Academy, Leeds Pride, Camper Calling, Unconvention, Bingley Weekender, Humber Street Sesh, UK National tours, BBC Radio Live Sessions, BBC Introducing Stages, York Racecourse, Long Division Festival, Twisterella Festival, Theatre by the Lake, Sofar Sounds Sessions (London, Manchester, Leeds, York) and many more as a touring musician.
